Outside of the US members come from all over the world: In North America, members come from Canada, Bermuda. In Europe, members are from England, Ireland, Scotland, Spain, Belgium Germany, Portugal, and Italy. In Latin America, we have members in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Argentina. In Asia and the Middle East, SHM has hospitalists in Saudi Arabia, Israel, Pakistan, United Arab Emirates, Japan, China, The Philippines, and Singapore, and in Africa, there are hospitalists in Nigeria and Kenya. Lastly, Australia and New Zealand also have hospitalists!
Hospitalists who would benefit from membership in the International Hospitalists section would be those international-based hospitalists who want to their concerns regarding membership in SHM as international members heard, who are interested in collaborations in research with other international and US-based colleagues, or who just want to network with their other international hospitalists with similar professional issues or with their US-based colleagues. Lastly, US-based hospitalists with an interest in global health who want to network with international colleagues for the purpose of potentially establishing research or clinical care endeavors would also do well to join the section.
Establish for US-based hospitalists potential sites of collaboration for clinical care outside of the US for professional fulfillment and educational purposes.
